What This Looks Like
On Windows, with Weesper Neon Flow 1.8.8 or earlier:
- the app closes a few seconds after you start it, or seems not to open at all;
- a shield icon flashes in the taskbar;
- the update never seems to finish, and starting the app again gives the same result.
Why It Happens
When an update is ready, these versions close the app and start the Windows installer. The installer needs your permission, but Windows often shows that prompt behind your other windows, as a flashing taskbar icon. Until you answer it, the update waits and the app stays closed.
Fix It in One Minute
Option 1: answer the waiting prompt
- Look for a flashing shield icon in the taskbar.
- Click it, then choose Yes.
- Wait for the installation to finish, then open Weesper Neon Flow again if it does not reopen by itself.
Option 2: install the latest version yourself
- Open the download page and download Weesper Neon Flow for Windows.
- Run the installer and accept the Windows prompt.
- Your settings, history and license stay as they are.
If Windows says another installation is already in progress, restart your computer first, then use option 2.
From Version 1.8.10
Updates no longer install on their own at startup. Weesper Neon Flow shows that a new version is ready and installs it only when you click Install now, with the Windows permission prompt in front of you. You only need to do the steps above once, to get to 1.8.10 or later.
When to Contact Support
Contact us if the app still closes after installing the latest version. Include:
- your Windows version;
- whether your account has administrator rights (work computers often do not);
- the version shown in Settings, if the app opens;
- the exact wording of any error message.
