Weesper Neon Flow 1.5.1 on Windows: How to Reinstall the Stable 1.5.0

What Happened

On April 13, 2026, we released Weesper Neon Flow 1.5.1. Shortly after publication, we identified a crash affecting some Windows installations of 1.5.1. To protect users, we immediately withdrew 1.5.1 from our public release channel and rolled back to the stable 1.5.0.

If you downloaded and installed 1.5.1 on Windows and are experiencing crashes, this guide will get you back up and running in under 2 minutes.

Your data is safe. Your settings, license activation, and transcription history are stored separately from the program files and will be preserved throughout this process.

Who Is Affected

If you are unsure which version you have installed, open Weesper Neon Flow and check the About dialog from the app menu.

Recovery Steps

Step 1: Uninstall Weesper Neon Flow 1.5.1

Windows Installer does not allow installing an older version of an application on top of a newer one. We therefore need to remove 1.5.1 first.

  1. Press Win + I to open Windows Settings
  2. Go to Apps → Installed apps
  3. In the search box, type Weesper Neon Flow
  4. Click the menu next to the app, then click Uninstall
  5. Confirm the uninstall when prompted

Important: The uninstall only removes program files. Your personal data — settings, hotkey, language preferences, license activation, and transcription history — is stored in %APPDATA%\WeesperNeonFlow\ and is not touched by the uninstall.

Step 2: Download the Stable 1.5.0 Installer

  1. Visit https://weesperneonflow.ai/en/download
  2. Click Download for Windows
  3. Save the file Weesper-Neon-Flow-Windows-x64.msi to your Downloads folder

Our website and auto-updater both serve the stable 1.5.0 — you do not need to look anywhere else.

Step 3: Run the Installer

  1. Double-click the downloaded Weesper-Neon-Flow-Windows-x64.msi file
  2. If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning, click More info → Run anyway (the installer is digitally signed with a verified code signing certificate — see our SmartScreen guide for details)
  3. Follow the setup wizard to complete the installation

Step 4: Launch the App

Open Weesper Neon Flow from the Start menu. Your app should launch normally, and you should see:

Everything is preserved because your personal data was never removed.

Verify You Are on 1.5.0

Once the app is running, you can verify the installed version:

  1. Right-click the Weesper Neon Flow icon in the Windows system tray
  2. Click About
  3. The About dialog will display Version 1.5.0

What About the Fix?

A fixed 1.5.2 release is already in preparation and will ship in the coming days. When it is available, the built-in auto-updater on your 1.5.0 installation will offer the update automatically on next launch. You do not need to check manually or revisit this page.

FAQ

Why was Weesper Neon Flow 1.5.1 withdrawn?

We identified a crash affecting Weesper Neon Flow 1.5.1 on some Windows installations shortly after release. Rather than leaving affected users with a broken app, we withdrew 1.5.1 from our public release channel and rolled back to the stable 1.5.0. A fixed 1.5.2 is already in preparation.

Will I lose my settings, license, or transcription history?

No. All of your personal data — settings, hotkey preferences, language, license activation, and transcription history — is stored in %APPDATA%\WeesperNeonFlow\ on Windows. This folder is separate from the program files and is not touched when you uninstall the app. Reinstalling 1.5.0 will pick up all your data automatically.

Why can't I just downgrade from 1.5.1 to 1.5.0 without uninstalling first?

Windows Installer (MSI) refuses to install an older version on top of a newer one by design. This is not specific to Weesper Neon Flow — it is a standard Windows limitation. The quickest and safest path is to uninstall 1.5.1 first, then install 1.5.0.

Will the auto-updater push 1.5.1 again?

No. We have updated our release channel so that 1.5.1 is no longer served to the auto-updater or the website download buttons. You can stay on 1.5.0 safely. When the fixed 1.5.2 is released, your app will offer the update automatically on next launch — no manual action required.

I never installed 1.5.1 — am I affected?

No. If you are currently on version 1.5.0 or earlier, you are not affected and do not need to take any action. Your app will stay on its current version and receive 1.5.2 automatically when it ships.

My app still crashes after reinstalling 1.5.0. What should I do?

Please email support@weesperneonflow.ai with a screenshot of the issue, your Windows version (press Win+R, type winver, press Enter, screenshot the dialog), and a brief description of when the crash happens (at startup, when pressing the hotkey, during transcription, etc.). We will investigate immediately.

When will 1.5.2 be released?

A fixed 1.5.2 is being prepared and will be released in the coming days. Once available, your app will notify you of the update automatically on next launch. You do not need to watch for it manually.
