Normal behavior
Weesper Neon Flow follows a simple workflow:
- You hold the dictation shortcut.
- The app records your voice.
- You release the shortcut.
- The audio is transcribed locally on your computer.
- The text is inserted where your cursor is.
The text therefore does not appear progressively while you speak. It appears after you release the shortcut.
Why does it work this way?
This behavior lets Weesper Neon Flow process your audio locally, without sending your voice to a server. It also gives the transcription engine a little more context before producing the final text.
For short and medium-length phrases, this often gives better results than immediately displaying text word by word.
What you should see during dictation
While you hold the shortcut:
- the HUD should appear;
- the sound wave should move when you speak;
- a sound may indicate the start or end of recording, depending on your settings.
After you release the shortcut, Weesper Neon Flow shows a processing state, then inserts the text.
If the text never appears
If the text does not appear after you release the shortcut:
- Check whether the transcription appears in Weesper Neon Flow history.
- If it appears in history but not in the target app, see the Text not inserted article.
- If it does not appear in history either, check your microphone and permissions.
If processing takes too long
The delay depends on the recognition profile, quality level, and power of your computer. If you wait too long after each dictation:
- try a lighter profile;
- reduce the quality level;
- test with a shorter dictation;
- close heavy apps running in the background.
A mode called “Instant” or “Fast” means the profile prioritizes speed, but it does not mean the text appears while you speak.
